A LOVE LETTER FROM FANS, TO FANS
A LOVE LETTER FROM FANS, TO FANS
Be Part of “In the Garage: 30 Years of a Good Thing” — A Weezer Fan Retrospective
(A project by fans, for fans — and for the love of the garage.)
Friends,
We’re excited to officially invite you to take part in In the Garage: 30 Years of a Good Thing — a fan-led, fan-made retrospective celebrating the beautiful, weird, heartfelt world of Weezer fandom. It’s a love letter not just to the band, but to each other. And we’d love you to be a part of it.
This project will culminate in a print book filled with stories, art, photos, special features, memories, tattoos, crafts, and “fanecdotes” from the past three decades. We’re planning to release it next year adjacent to Album 20 and the upcoming Weezer documentary — making it a true milestone moment for our community.
We’re gathering everything:
🎸 Fan stories (short, long, weird, emotional, hilarious — all welcome). Essays, poems, diverse & inclusive perspectives
🎨 Art, comics, crafts, collections, and photos
💙 Tattoos, handmade sweaters, zines, posters — anything that shows your love
📸 Snapshots from shows, meetups, parking lot hangs, and living room karaoke nights
✍️ Special Submissions, solicited by the editorial team, posted here on the website
🎶 Music contributions to be linked via the book
(VISIT 'CONTRIBUTION IDEAS' BELOW FOR MORE)
Our fandom is full of artists, authors, musicians, students, teachers, programmers, doctors, and dreamers — and this is a space to celebrate all of it.
We’re thrilled to share that the project will hopefully kick off with an exclusive interview with Jason Cropper, who’s generously offered to speak with us about a special moment in the early days of the band and what the fandom means to him. And artist Alec Longstreth (yes — the Alec from the Weezine!) is in early conversations with us about cover art. We’re also scripting a special music project to help launch the book next year.
Our fearless leader Karl Koch is also generously lending support.
We’re building this together.
Because every time we attend a concert, a meet-up, or log into a fan space, someone always surprises us — with a memory, a photo, a handmade pin, or a story we’ve never heard before.
How many more are out there waiting to be shared? We can’t wait to find out.
We’ll see you in the garage...
For questions, media inquiries, and suggestions.
ALL THE GOOD ONES
